I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect highlighter for a while. I love glitter but not in my makeup! I’ve reached a point in life where the disco ball formulas favoured by a lot of big brands really don’t work for me.  I love to be luminesced but often luminisers contain a little too much sparkle to look anywhere near having just a natural glow. But then there are the glitter free formulations which don’t hit the high notes when it comes to highlighting!  If this sounds familiar, worry not, there’s a new brand which plugs this gap pretty perfectly.

I’ve recently discovered and fallen in love with Westman Atelier. Their clean vegan formulations and sublimely minimalist but luxurious packaging tick a lot of boxes on any dream makeup wish list. This is make-up formulated with skincare in mind and is free from silicones, parabens and synthetic fragrances. Gucci Westman, make-up artist to celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Weatherspoon, to name but a few, is behind the brand and is bringing her trademark super glossy, dewy and natural looks to the masses.

A couple of months ago I started to use the Lit Up Highlight Stick in Nectar. It’s available in three hues, all of which use multidimensional undertones to compliment all skin tones. This is a translucent gel highlighter in a convenient stick form which easily glides onto and melts into the skin. With skincare in mind, it contains grape extract to boost collagen production, hydration and firmness.  It’s versatile enough to use under or over foundation and can spectacularly revive the flattest and dullest of complexions. I use it on my cheeks, cheekbones and arch of my eyebrows.

Gucci Westman is Hollywood’s Queen of dewy, natural make-up looks and this is perfectly encapsulated in the Lit Up Highlight stick. It delivers a lovely, natural looking, healthy glow with a single use; just what I’ve been looking for. The highlighter can be a little tacky to the touch, when initially applied, but not annoyingly so. The formula lasts pretty well and can be quickly and easily reapplied, without any fuss or mess, so is ideal even when on the go.

This is absolutely my new highlighting hero. The Lit Up Highlight Stick is a beautiful dewy and glossy highlighter, ideal for summer. No glitter or sparkly bits in sight. Just a lovely natural glow. Simple, luxurious and pretty perfect.
