I first came across Cult51 in the beauty department of Fortnum and Mason of all places, early this year. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular when I found Cult 51, but subsequent Googling confirmed it was a brand I should get to know better.

Cult 51 is an entirely independent British brand, manufacturing in Britain, which also happens to be cruelty free, vegan and sustainable. This all sounded fantastic, before I’d even tried their skincare. Free from the shackles of a Big Corporate, it’s apparent that Cult51 do skincare their way; to the highest possible standard without any compromise. Their core values also allow them to produce Inclusive skincare. That is, skincare that’s suitable for all, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or ethics. There’s also a lot of clever science and supreme ingredients behind their results driven formulas. Cult51 basically offers clarity and simplicity in the dizzyingly complicated world of skincare. They make a simplified line of products for everyone and they work. Very appealing, I’m sure you’ll agree.

The Night Cream was the first product to be launched by the brand and it was the first product I tried. It’s marketed as a multi functioning cream which is clinically proven to improve signs of aging, improve skin smoothness and tone and results in younger looking and rejuvenated skin. What does it contain to achieve this? Well everything your skin needs, apparently. Perfect!  I started using this in February and I apply the cream nightly to cleansed skin.  You only need a very small amount, as a little goes a long way with this potent formulation. A pea size amount can be spread across the eye contour and face.

I have dry skin which is incredibly sensitive, so I was little worried when I first tried the Night Cream. It’s a luxurious cream, in the old school kind of way. My first thought was, this is a lot richer in consistency than anything I use. My recent preference had been for serums over creams, as my skin seemed less likely to breakout when I used them.  It’s also scented. I actively avoid scented products because they can irritate my eyes and cause headaches. I shouldn’t have worried. This cream is very different to any others I’ve used.

The rich, concentrated formulation of the Cult51 Night Cream is exactly what my skin has been craving for a very long time. This is no old school cream after all! It’s indulgent and rich but featherlight and non-irritating to sensitive skin. It plumps, luminesces and cares for your skin all night long. You can’t fail but to wake up and notice how lovely your skin feels. It’s hydrated, soothed and plumped in equal measures, and goodness knows what else it’s doing when you look into the science behind it. As for the fragrance, I have to say, to my astonishment, it truly enhances the night time ritual of using the cream and quickly fades. It’s definitely not headache inducing or irritating, as is the case with a lot of scented products.

This cream does what it says and more. My skin feels truly fantastic in the morning after using it. Completely refreshed, plumed, calmed and rejuvenated. I love the Night Cream!

I try not to be too brand loyal when I find a product I love. Often brands have a star product or two and when you stray from them, you’re left disappointed and out of pocket. I therefore held off trying any other products from Cult51 for a few months, as I continued to use the Night Cream. When I ran out of my usual day serum, buoyed by the continued success of the Night Cream, I couldn’t look beyond the Immediate Effect Serum.

The Immediate Effect serum is aimed at brightening, hydrating, evening skin tone, treating hyperpigmentation and firming. It combines Vitamin C, soluble collagen, caffeine, Argan nut extract and Green Tea extract. This unique formulation promotes collagen production, firms up lines and wrinkles and shields skin against pollution. This all sounded too good to be true, but certainly worth a shot.

Similarly to the Night Cream, the Immediate Effect Serum is a concentrated formulation and a little goes a long way. I apply a pea size amount and find this is enough to cover the undereye area and the rest of my face. It’s absorbed so quickly so there is no residue or tackiness. It forms the perfect base for the rest of your skincare or makeup routine.

This is unquestionably the best serum I’ve used in a long time. It has comforted, plumped, smoothed, hydrated and boosted my skin like no other product I’ve ever used. I love the fact it can be applied morning and night and can be used on the undereye area. My undereye has been particularly in need of some TLC, which this delivers in bucket loads.  It plumps, firms and smooths the lines on this delicate skin, with zero irritation and even reduces dark circles. My skin just generally feels great when I use this serum. It’s as simple as that. It’s like it’s been given a new lease of life, and that’s true from the very first use.

The Cult51 Night Cream and Immediate Effect Serum are a gift to your skin. They actually do what they say they will. Truly fantastic Great British skincare!  Cult51 have also just launched a new Oxygen Mask, which sounded too good to resist, so I’ll be sure to report back on it.
